Hallo again, it's Halloween again

Well, that was our this year's decoration.
Very similar to last year's because of the lack of time.
But after all the witch's copper kettle on the right from the op shop around the corner is our latest acquisition.
All the other ceramic pumpkins are thrifted too.

Happy Halloween!

Autumn Sweet Table

Moist coconut lemon tartlets in pinks and violets on an autumnal sweet table.
That was a really delicious dough.
Most of the crockery is from fleamarkets or op shops.
I love all these colours. I could plunge in them.
I can't at all decide which photos to pick so I'm going to show you all.
And I love my leave plates. They're so hard to find.

I found the footstool on a fleamarket too.

Have a nice week with all the pretty autumn colours around!

Ginger cake dessert

I don't like to dump leftovers from our food. So I pondered what to make with the rest of triple ginger cake that was just a bit dried out.
Ding- a-ling! What about using it for a dessert that I had to bring for a party with friends.

I crumbled the cake between my hands until I got tiny crumbs, put them in glasses and soaked them with a tsp of rum. Then I mixed cream cheese, coconut milk, brown sugar and bourbon vanilla and folded in some whipped cream at last. After that I layered everything in the glasses by turns. On top I spread some pistachios - not for the taste but for the eye because I think their taste is not really scrumptious and almost never necessary.
Tadah! It worked and was a highly coveted dessert. And so easy to make.

Btw in the background you can see a 1000 piece puzzle with a retro motive of the American fine artist REX RAY. It's the first puzzle I've ever made since my childhood and it was a nice experience to do something so completely useless again - to play again.
Do you like useless activities sometimes?
Have a nice weekend!

Yoo-hoo! Another weird canary in the kitchen!

Green even on my eyelids.
Don't you want to be a bird sometimes too?
Pop over to Emalina if you like to see a firebird.
The metal brooch is from the fleamarket. I think it's American.
Have a nice day!

Triple ginger cake

Can't get enough of ginger of all sorts?
Then try this recipe with crystallized ginger, ground ginger and fresh ginger.
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!
200 gr flour
6 gr baking powder
1 pinch salt
1tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
125 gr butter
125 gr brown sugar
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
125 gr golden syrup
2 eggs
125 gr buttermilk
40 gr minced crystallized ginger
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a 20x20 cm baking mould.
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and ground ginger in a bowl.
In a separate bowl beat the butter and brown sugar for 4 minutes or until fluffy. Add the fresh ginger and the golden syrup and beat well. Add the eggs, one at a time, and keep beating until well combined. Mix in the fresh ginger and the flour mixture. Add the buttermilk and beat until just combined. At last fold in the crystallized  ginger. Pour the batter into the prepared tin, then bake for 35 minutes until risen. Cut in small squares.
You'll get yummy fluffy cake bites that taste incredible. I decorated them with a dash of melted chocolate and a small piece of crystallized ginger.
Last time I substituted the golden syrup by sugar beet molasses. It tasted even better but it was harder to get the cake out of the mould because the dough was very sticky.
Triple ginger cake - a spicy cake for chilly autumn days.
Have a nice week.

This time a canary!

This time I was a little bit more modest with colours and confined myself to only two colours -
a warm yellow and lime green. Canary colours! Yippie!
The canary in the garden:
With triple ginger cake. Mmmh! Next time I'll give you the recipe.
It's easy to make and sooo delicious. (If you like ginger)
I'm going to bring that to my parents and we'll have a cosy afternoon tea.
 hat: C&A
jacket: H&M
scarf: knitted by me
skirt: sewn for me - my idea
boots: Gabor
The pink shrub in the background is Euonymus alatus. I think in English it's called burning bush.
And it's so pretty in autumn.
Wish you the most colourful autumn days with mother nature!

The parrot - ready to fly out!

Sometimes my poor soul feels a strong desire for colours and I dress in a range of vibrant colours. The more the better I think and so I use my red door as a bright background furthermore.
Even if some fellow men may think that I'm looking a bit like a parrot. Yes - I want to look like a parrot or even be a parrot. Must be funny for some time.
And who's that guy? Wanna hug? - No! Wanna go for a walk!
Bye-bye! We're going to start our short flight.

Two years anniversary!

I can't believe it! I'm blogging for two years now. And it's still fun and happiness everytime I write a new post. Never I had to force myself. That's my free time, my hobby. I don't need to demonstrate anything. But it's purest joy. And why? Because of you, my dear readers and commenters. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in my thoughts, my outfits, my hobbies and my cooking. It's you that encourage me to go on and try new recipes, compose colourful outfits, arrange weird table decorations and so on. You're so very precious for me cause you light up hours and days that are dark and sad for several reasons. And for that I want to thank you even if we've never met or may never meet in the future. You should know that all of you are in my thoughts and heart cause you mean so much to me.

New green dress with mandalas

Last week I got my new dress that has the most lovely vibrant green I've ever seen.

It's from Qiero.
And - premiere -  it's the first time that I bought clothes by mail order. I was lucky cause the dress fits like a glove and it's very comfortable. I can make every movement I want and I can ride my bike without any problems.
I like my autumn treasures! Orange - one of my favourite warm colours! I have a field of Chinese lanterns in my garden that soon will overgrow everything else that's around it.
And I will make pumpkin soup in a few days. Yummy on chilly autumn days!
Being so pleased with my new green dress I'm getting a bit more daring and I think about ordering a second dress from Qiero. This time a pink one.
What do you, my dear readers, think about this pink dress?
Is that a colour that will suit me or not?
I think about teaming it with a mustard or an olive green corduroy blazer.
Have a nice week full of colourful autumn leaves.
