My new dress under the rose arch

Lately I found a new dress in a wonderful print and an even more wonderful shape here.
The perfect summer dress!
What? A photo session? So Julie wants to be on the set too, of course!
I like the delicate pink of my autumn anemones.
Julie tries to be in as much photos as possible.

Too bad that the roses for this rose arch died some years ago. I must plant new ones.
Some really robust ones that don't need watering too often.

This bag was a cheap bargain at my local op shop around the corner: 3 €. First I thought it had been an old sewing basket but my mum told me that in her childhood baskets like these were part of the traditional costumes worn in our area. So it was a way more precious found than I thought. And I think this basket is the ideal addition to all summer dresses. Besides there is enough space for all the things I need to have in a bag. Thank God I do not need too much things.

 Mistress is laughing.
So Julie is laughing, too!
The photo session is over? Ok then there's nothing more to do for Julie here.
She wants to leave as fast as possible. Let's go for a walk, mistress. Quick!!!
What's better than a walk on this sunny late summer day.
Wish you enough time for a walk on this sunny day!
Miss Maple

    1. Thank you very much for your sweet compliment, Carra. But I think, you deserve that compliment of the natural beauty way more than me. I remember your last posts with these beautiful pictures.

  3. Ahh, that dress is lovely! And you certainly don't look like you've eaten any cookies! You are absolutely beautiful! I love the pictures. Sweet doggie.

    1. Thank you, I sometimes eat a few cookies but I'm not the one with a sweet tooth. I like better savoury things with lots of salt, chilli and spices which isn't so healthy either.

    1. Dear Charmaine, I want to thank you for your nice words. Yes, this setting is rather beautiful. I really must buy some new roses so that in a few years we can pace through a rose arch that deserves its name.

  5. Awwwww Miss Maple I'm sorry you lost your climbing rose, I hope you find another that will make its home over that glorious archway:). Your bag has some history, isn't that simply wonderful? It makes it even more special and a bag that contains all the important things in life is a keeper ... especially when it goes beautifully with your lovely frock and Julie of course. xoxo

    1. My dear Desiree, you're right, this bag is special and I've never seen one in the streets before, so it's a real treasure and I have to be careful with it.

  6. It really is a magnificent dress. So elegant, becoming and timelessly pretty (while also reminding me that I should add more black and white frocks to my own wardrobe). You picked the perfect setting to highlight it's immensely loveliness, dear gal.

Ooooh, and may I just add, I am more than a little smitten with your stellar wicker handbag.

  7. Dear Jessica, that's really funny. You want to add more black and white frocks to your wardrobe and I was inspired by your last posts to add more green to my wardrobe and accidently today I'm wearing a light green skirt and an olive green cardi because I read your post last night. When I was out in our local "wunderkammer" this morning I had my green beret and a green umbrella with me. Isn't that a nice coincidence?

    1. Thank you Kim, thank you Chloe, for your sweet words. Yes, it's always nice to have a doggie around when it comes to taking photos. It's way more fun and - you're right - It's also a lovely accent on the pictures.

  12. Yes, Julie is used to being papped - strictly speaking she's out for being photographed obviously because she's running into the picture all the time.
