Sunlight beaming on white and colourful glass

Last time I had guests and decided to use a variety of my glass collection to decorate the table. Suddenly sunlight beamed into the room from the west window and made the glasses look like gemstones. So I took lots of photos to record this special moment. And here they are for you to enjoy.
Hope you like them as much as I
Unfortunately the light was gone when the guests arrived. But you, my dear readers, are my witnesses of this magic sight.
I wish you all many of similar magic moments.
Happy Easter to you with all your beloves ones around.

DIY Project: Granny Squares Purse

Well, after having finished my crocheted scarf it seems that I have been bitten by the granny squares bug and now I want to produce a purse made of granny squares like this one that I found here.
Doesn't it look so pretty?
 Or what about these ones?

What about granny squares shoes? But I think they're a little bit weird, aren't they?

Have a great time!

Granny Squares Scarf Outfit

My newly crocheted granny square scarf is so right for cheering up a simple dark brown outfit and for adding a bit of happy spring feeling. My beloved corduroy jacket is so very old and worn out and really not in the best condition. But I think this colourful accessory makes the best of it and I can wear it some more years (?)
The yellow veil above the ground in the backdrop are winter aconites that get more and more every year.
A lot of snowdrops are growing in between.
 Julie, where are you?
July isn't interested in being stroked because there are so many interesting scents in the air.
By the way she's almost fourteen and she's going a bit deaf.
Finally the sun is shining again after so many sunless months.
I got this little willow tree from friends as a present. Isn't it nice and suits my outfit with it's coloured bows?
Have a colourful happy spring day!

DIY-Project: Granny Squares Scarf

When I was in the supermarket last time buying the food we will need for the weekend I saw a woman at the checkout wearing the most beautiful scarf made from granny squares. They were crocheted in all colours with a brown surrounding and brown fringes. She wore it with a brown jacket and it was such a pretty look that I started to rummage my yarn stock as soon as I reached home. I found that I own a real rainbow of colours ...
... and began to crochet one granny square after the other. It was a real obsession. In a short time - the next few days - I had 19 pieces.
And soon the scarf will be finished.
Have some happy rainbowy days with fun projects to make!

Spring colours

As the snow was melting away and spring brought warmer temperatures I wanted to fit in and chose greens and yellows for my outfit. And I carried with me the two flower cushions I crocheted last year to complete the spring look.

The scarf is knitted by me. I love it because of the nice green and yellow colours.
I knitted the wrist warmers on warmer days when I was sitting at the beach of  Lake Garda in Italy.
So they remember me of summer's warm days.
Have some lovely spring days!

A trip to the Orient

Last weekend I attended a course in vegetarian Indian cooking with my sister and friends.
 It was so delicious.
So today I tried to cook some of the meals. Mmmh!
I made tomato&date chutney and carot chutney and I fried potato balls with a sesame coating.
Cause it was a little hot and spicey we had tomato raita to cool our mouths.
As a drink we had self made chai tea.
You can refresh your mouth after the meal with cardamom seeds and rock candy.
Put both of them into your mouth and bite them into pieces.
As I learned how to make Garam Masala I bought a mortar made from granite and started to make my own Garam Masala at once. Ingredients were pepper, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, cardamom.
Have a happy, sunny weekend all over the world!

Pale pink tulips inside and outside

Buying pale pink tulips was a pretty little challenge to take out my vintage china and glasses and try to give a shabby chic appeal to the windowsill. What do you think? Can you make out the shabby chic style or is it too clean and too intentional?
After decorating inside I wanted to know how the tulips appeared outside in the gleaming sunshine.
Have happy late winter days!

Having a crush on white shabby interior blogs

For a long time I was extremely smitten  with warm colours. But last time I recognized a change. Nowadays I'm hanging all around in interior blogs that are based on white and soft colours. And I must confess that I'm thinking about giving it a try myself. But first I want to present you some of my favourite shabby chic blogs. Of course they're all from Sweden.
