Raindrops keep falling on my head (in black and white)

Sometimes I like walking in the rain, especially when it's not too cold. It's freshening to breathe the clean and crisp air. And you can parade your nice umbrellas. I found lots of pretty vintage umbrella photos on the internet. Today I show you the black and white ones. Enjoy!

You can be as famous as possible but you will need umbrellas someday.

Teapot collection

The more it's getting colder from day to day the more I like to cuddle up in my wing-back armchair with a fine and hot cup of tea poured out from a fancy teapot.
Wow! I would like to start a collection like that immediately.

Or should I collect only one colour like these teapots in a cosy tea room.

"El Trio Chikiboom" in our town

Three young ladies from different countries found each other in Barcelona and started a unique project: As "El Trio Chikiboom" the three enchanting ladies Aude Taillandier (F), Anne Johnson (CA) & Marina Fabregas (E) sing Jazz & Swing Standards from the 1930s to the 1940s.
I saw them live this weekend. They were stunning. And it was funny too.
You can hear and see them here. Enjoy!
Have a fabulous week with lots of music in it!

Tweed Run - London and Paris 2012

As you know I'm a great fan of all the Tweed Run events worldwide.
In Paris it's called "Béret Baguette".
You can see a film about the event in 2012 here.
I found great photos from the Tweed Run 2012 in London here.
 Enjoy, please!
 And here.
Have a colourful day!

Gugl for friends

I brought some of my huge Gugl production to a nice evening at friends.
They thought the Apple Cinnamon Gugls were the best.
Gugls are just the right thing for girls that have a sweet tooth. I must admit that's not me. I bake them for my family and friends.
The white sweets amongst the Gugls are Noghul almonds. That are almonds in a sugar crust perfumed with rose water. They are served at weddings in Iran. You can get them here.

Apple Cinnamon Gugls
 100 g butter
100 g sugar
125 g plain flour
2 eggs
80 g grated apples
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
If you use the Gugl tins you have to add so much apple or lemon juice or milk that you get a relatively thin dough so that it can fill the fine grooves of the tins and you'll get pretty results. I always fill the dough in a small freezer bag, cut off one wee corner and with this tool I fill the tins. I hope you can imagine what I mean. The dough is enough for filling the 18 tins twice.

Have a colourful day, my dear girls!

Gugl production of one busy afternoon

I'm addicted to Gugl baking and came up with three new recipes on a rainy Sunday afternoon:
Chocolate-Martini-Gugls
Apple-Cinnamon-Gugls
Almond-Eggnogg-Gugls
108 Gugls layed out in the form of a huge pretzel.
Drop me a line if you want the recipes.
Have a colourful, sweet day!
